The Project:
Out.Cloud aimed to create a self-hosted Amazon EKS cluster that runs Github Actions Runners with custom capabilities and complete control of resources. This cluster was designed to improve CI/CD security, resource control and visibility, maintainability, and overall developer experience.
Challenges:
SigTech faced fragmented governance and manual processes in a multi-account AWS environment. Lack of automation increased operational overhead, introduced misconfiguration risks, and made compliance enforcement difficult. Security monitoring was inconsistent, leaving gaps in visibility and threat detection.
Solution:
Out.Cloud implemented a governance automation framework using AWS best practices. Accounts were organized under AWS Organizations with preventive and detective controls enforced through Service Control Policies, AWS Config, and centralized logging. Security posture was strengthened with AWS Security Hub and GuardDuty. Automation was achieved through Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps workflows, enabling consistent, auditable deployments and rapid onboarding of new environments.
